QCSO cellist gets nostalgic in English Elgar concerto - Dispatch Argus - November 30, 2016
"Equally outstanding are the performances by cellist Hannah Holman and pianist Réne Lecuona. Holman's intonation is consistently excellent. Lecuona seems to lavish well-considered planning to every note she plays. Her control of the keyboard is amazing. The playing of both musicians demonstrates first-rate musicianship."

Another standing ovation performance from Beverly Everett, the BMSO and guest cellist Hannah Holman!
"Those moments that are priceless, deeply moving, deeply connected to past, present and everyone around you...when you have tears in your eyes because you don't want it to be over...that was last night's Elgar performance with Hannah" .... "Getting to perform the Elgar Cello Concerto with the incomparable Hannah Holman as our soloist is like a little glimpse of heaven"
Beverly Everett, conductor of BMSO
David Schultz conducts the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the phenomenal Hannah Holman!
"After intermission, cellist Hannah Holman took to the stage to perform Dvorak's famous cello concerto. A lengthy difficult work, Hannah attacked the loud passages with ease and confidence. In the 2nd movement, her cello sang with a lovely warm sound that floated above the JSO accompaniment. Ms. Holman, a native of Jackson herself, has attained quite a successful musical career, holding the principal cello chair of the Quad City Symphony and being a member of the New York City Ballet orchestra. Many musicians in the JSO know Hannah, and it was a wonderful homecoming for old friends and colleagues to reconnect and perform together! Hannah's dad, Thomas Holman, performs with the JSO cello section himself and was a proud father this evening indeed! At the end of the concerto, the audience quickly rose to their feet. Several curtain calls and many flower bouquets later, the concert ended with electricity and excitement in the air!"

Praise for Trouvailles! - Cello and Piano sonatas by Boëllmann, Dohnányi and Bridge
"The musical chemistry between these two is remarkable" - Audiophile Audition web magazine March 28 2016
"I can tell you that this (performance) is breathtaking. Hannah Holman is as new to me as Boëllmann's sonata is, but her tone and technique are the stuff that cello legends are made of ... Holman's cello sings with a lustrous tone that's hard to resist." - Fanfare Magazine January/February 2016
"Holman and Lecuona are especially keen to bring out the score's strong Brahms influence in a beautiful performance that easily competes with the best I've heard." - Fanfare Magazine January/February 2016
"Holman and Lecuona play with emotional involvement ... this is an important release of three not often recorded works." - American Record Guide January/February 2016
Praise for Bernhard Romberg: The Complete Cello Sonatas
"Romberg's music...has lyrical warmth that makes it well worth hearing. Holman and Lecuona play it with musical phrasing and technical accomplishment." - American Record Guide July/August 2013
"I can't imagine (the Romberg sonatas) sounding any better, performed to perfection..." - Audiophile Audition web magazine July 2, 2013

From the Liner Notes:
"Bernhard Romberg belongs to a family of virtuosos almost forgotten for their musical contributions, and better remembered for their brilliant and effortless command of instrumental technique.
Romberg's music represents the pivotal bridge between the Classical and Romantic eras. During his time Romberg was viewed both as a pedagogical composer who pioneered the growth of cello technique and construction, and a cello virtuoso, possessing a technique of solid mastery and brilliance.
- Brett Alkire
"I would like to dedicate this project to my beloved teacher, the late Mr. Louis Potter. I so fondly remember studying three of these sonatas with him in his basement studio in East Lansing, Michigan. The sonatas were a wonderful stepping stone along my journey of understanding music, cello technique, and humanity - and bringing it all together. Thank you, Mr. Potter."
